VE1YAR UHF Tone Configured to Reduce Digital "Noise"
We now have the VE1YAR UHF repeater set up with a Tone of 67 Hz. For those that don’t want to hear the digital noise going on, but still want to be able to listen to analog FM signals, set your rig to RX Tone 67Hz on 444.700 MHz.

February Monthly Meeting

The regular monthly meeting is Tuesday February 16th. As usual it will be held at the EMO building, behind the fire hall, on Pleasant St at 7pm.
All members are encouraged to attend and visitors interested in amateur radio are also welcome!

Symposium for Maritime Amateur Radio Techs
The WestCumb Amateur Radio Club will be hosting Symposium for Maritime Amateur Techs (S.M.A.R.T.) on Apr.30th, 2016 at the ED Fullerton Building in Amherst.
The day long event will have different technical classes at the top of each hour with question periods to follow. The radio room will be available with HF, VHF, Packet and other Digital modes available to test during the day.
Classes will begin at 9am and run until 5pm with a lunch hour at noon.
There will be a small fee to be determined. More details to follow.
If interested in attending or presenting a topic please contact George Dewar VY2GF via the WestCumb Amateur Radio Club Website.

THE YARMOUTH AMATEUR RADIO
CLUB IS PROUD TO ONCE AGAIN SPONSOR THE ANNUAL WHITE CANE CONTEST WHICH WILL BE
HELD ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7th, 2016 ON THE 80 METER BAND USING LOWER
SIDEBAND FROM 7:30 UNTIL 9:30 AM AND FROM 3:00 UNTIL 6:00 PM ATLANTIC STANDARD
TIME.
ONLY CONTACTS WITH
AMATEURS IN THE FOUR ATLANTIC PROVINCES WILL COUNT FOR POINTS AND IF A PERSON
HOLDS MORE THAN ONE CALL SIGN, ONLY ONE CONTACT WITH THAT PERSON WILL COUNT.
CONTEST LOGS:
CONTEST LOGS SHALL CONTAIN
THE CALL-SIGN, NAME AND STATUS OF EACH CONTACT.
STATUS IS WC FOR A WHITE CANER AND NWC FOR A NON-WHITE CANER. WHITE CANERS NEED NOT ENTER THE TIMES OF EACH
CONTACT BUT NON-WHITE CANERS MUST ENTER THE TIMES.
SCORING:
A CONTACT WITH A WHITE
CANER WILL COUNT FOR TWO POINTS AND A CONTACT WITH A NON-WHITE CANER WILL COUNT
FOR ONE POINT. FINAL SCORE WILL BE THE
TOTAL OF YOUR POINTS
