This is a commercially made crystal radio from the 1920s known as the Pandora Crystal Radio, made by the Brooklyn Metal Stamping Company.  It didn't require a power source to operate, just an antenna, a ground connection and a pair of headphones.

It was owned by Dave Lecain, VE1AFU and came into my possession when he became a silent key in 1993.  I have passed it on to Hart, VE1HRT who plans to restore it and put it in his collection of antique radio equipment.
